Isaac Laskin, AMFT
Isaac is an associate marriage and family therapist (AMFT # 157948) practicing under the supervision of Max Maisel, PhD (PSY #31101). He specializes in the treatment of anxiety and OCD-related disorders, utilizing an approach grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Isaac’s clinical style is warm, empathic, and collaborative, and he brings a deep and genuine commitment to his work with clients. Isaac earned his Master’s in Psychology from Antioch University in Los Angeles and holds an undergraduate degree from Yale and an MBA from UCLA Anderson. Prior to joining Beachfront, Isaac received intensive training in psychodynamic therapy from the Maple Counseling Center in Beverly Hills, where he gained clinical experience treating adult clients with a range of trauma, anxiety and mood disorders.
As a former screenwriter and English teacher at Harvard-Westlake School, Isaac is especially familiar with communities that prize achievement and often struggle with anxiety and perfectionism. Teens and young adults hold a special place in Isaac’s heart (going back to his years spent in the classroom), and he loves watching young people figure out what they care about and who they want to be. Isaac is also passionate about helping writers, actors, and musicians navigate the challenges of an artistic life and manage its attendant anxieties.
When he’s not working, Isaac enjoys spending time in the mountains, playing tennis, and trying to win his NFL survivor pool. .
